SECOND
SKIN show plans and products developed between 1997 and 2005. The public is invited to interact with new materials, new ideas and atmospheres from the fields of experimental design, from industrial production and medical and military research.
Reflecting on the cross-contact between natural and artificial life, the exhibition show how today's designers manipulate the inside and the outside of objects and spaces, and how they create 'skins', new surfaces. These 'skin'/surfaces have depth and complexity and show their
identity. SECOND SKIN demonstrates how modern societies have absorbed and interiorized the technology in a way at the same time intriguing and disturbed.
