1. FR Fabric - Inner layer:
The flameproof textile structure was developed by
combining FR hydrophobic Polyester fibres (in contact with the body to
avoid wet feeling) with FR hydrophilic aramide fibres, which create an
active suction channels that transport the moisture away from the skin.
2. Polymer effect (Hydrogel particles inside PU
melt matrix):
The polymer coating will absorb and bind the excess of
moisture migrating through the FR cotton fabric if the
temperature is maintained below the threshold.
In case temperature increases, the coating will release the sweat
accumulated, reproducing the human natural sweating process through
evaporative cooling.
3. FR Cotton fabric:
To avoid the scattering of the swollen Hydrogel
particles out of the FR
plain fabric and to allow the migrating of water vapour out of the
fabric, a FR cotton fabric was quilted to the coated FR plain fabric.
The outer fabric is composed by a Cotton fabric (weight 90 g/m2)
treated with the product “Antifiamma L” by A.CHI.MO
(concentration 190 g/l) using the foulard technique at Foltex. The
result is a FR Cotton fabric suitable to be quilted on the coated with
hydrogel surface of the FR plain fabric. This multilayer structure,
mimics physical mechanisms for human body thermoregulation.
